💼 How did you end up as a CEO? What was your route to this position?

The journey has been quite eventful so far. Looking back, I did always have a passion for innovation and a drive to make a difference. Throughout my career, I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work with some of the brightest talents across diverse sectors.

The experience helped me grow as a leader as well as an individual. I managed to ascend ranks across renewable energy, semiconductor, the internet, and eCommerce sectors before settling on cryptocurrency and its underlying blockchain technology.

The entrepreneur in me was born somewhere along the path, leading to the co-foundation and establishment of different successful firms and, eventually, HashCash Consultants and PayBito, where I am currently the CEO.

My quest for understanding how things work had previously taken me on a path of higher education and research, including a research stint at MIT’s Microsystems Technology Lab and an MS degree from Tufts University, Boston.

This was followed by an MBA from Santa Clara University, which further honed my skills in strategic planning, team building, and problem-solving.

💼 Why are you the right person to be the CEO of your company?

Truth be told, I used to ask this question earlier to myself.

The introspection helped in aligning my commitment, integrity, and responsibility while enhancing the vision for the upcoming future. My background in technology comprises both research and industry know-how, which helps in making informed decisions driving growth and profitability.

I was the team head responsible for innovating and pioneering the 1st blockchain-based interbank trade finance remittance between two global banks from India and the UAE. HashCash was soon formed after that.

PayBito’s ChatGPT AI-powered white-label crypto broker platform is also the first of its kind, launched to disrupt the existing market scenario and democratize access to crypto brokerage services.

My professional career featured extensive experience in business process development, risk management, and supply chain management.

The areas of expertise also include P&L and performance improvement, e-commerce, and renewable energy. At the same time, I am committed to ethical leadership and ensuring that my company operates with integrity and a focus on doing what is right for our employees, customers, and communities.

Hence, I believe that I have the necessary skills, experience, and vision to lead the company forward.

💼 What gets you up in the morning?

The opportunity to make a difference and drive progress. I am driven by the thrill of creating something new and solving challenges. The chance to leave behind a positive impact not only on the people surrounding me but on the world as a whole.

💼 Who helped you get to where you are today?

I have had many mentors and supporters along the way who have helped me to get to where I am today. From my family and friends to my colleagues and business partners, I am grateful for their encouragement and guidance.

I have also been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with some amazing leaders who have inspired me with their vision, integrity, and determination. Last but certainly not least, I am constantly inspired by the talent and dedication of my team, offering their invaluable contribution and support in making HashCash and PayBito bigger than ever.

💼 What is the best or worst business advice you have received, and from whom?

The best business advice I have received is to focus on building a strong culture and to always put people first. This advice has served me well, and I believe that a company’s success is largely determined by the quality of its people and the strength of its culture.

The worst business advice offered was to cut corners and prioritize short-term gains over long-term success. This approach is not sustainable and can lead to serious consequences in the long run.

💼 If you could go back in time to when you were a teenager, what life advice would you give yourself?

If I could go back to my teenage years, I would tell myself to follow my passions, be open-minded, take risks, learn as much as possible, and never give up. I’d probably go down the same path, making the same choices. However, the knowledge I gained now would’ve made the journey more efficient.

💼 What are the most important values you demonstrate as a leader?

As a leader, I understand the importance of upholding certain values to inspire and guide those around me.

Integrity, accountability, and a commitment to the greater good are at the forefront of my leadership philosophy. I believe in creating an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and heard, and I strive to communicate transparently with my team, customers, and stakeholders.

By embodying these principles and leading by example, I aim to foster a positive work environment and drive success for all those involved.

💼 How can a leader fail?

As a leader, it’s crucial to stay vigilant and always remain committed to one’s values and responsibilities.

Neglecting these fundamental elements can result in failure. The ability to adapt to change and make difficult decisions while balancing the needs of all parties involved is a critical component of success. Any leader who loses sight of these important factors risks falling short of their potential.

💼 What do the next five years hold for you?

HashCash has achieved success in terms of market presence, deploying products in more than 26 nations. The company will position itself as a world leader in blockchain development and innovation within the next 5 years.

We also have plans to expand and venture into upcoming Web 3.0 technology and the metaverse. An exclusive 2-acre HashCash Park is proposed for construction in East India.

The company will also extend its operations across Malta, Dubai, and Canada. Through PayBito, we aim to make a notable contribution to accelerating crypto adoption on a global scale.

The recently launched “Brokering World Hunger Away” campaign will encourage crypto trading while contributing to the cause of defeating global child hunger. PayBito will match the amount earned as a commission by its registered crypto brokers and use the funds raised to feed starving children.

The team is also working on new crypto and DeFi-based solutions, which will be released sometime in the near future.

💼 Mentorship is a big business in the West. Do you have any experience with it?

As a leader in the tech industry, I understand the importance of mentorship in helping individuals grow and reach their full potential.

While I haven’t personally participated in a structured mentorship program, I have had the privilege of working with and learning from some of the brightest minds in the industry. Through these experiences, I have developed my own leadership style and have had the opportunity to share my knowledge and expertise with others.

I firmly believe that knowledge should be shared and that everyone can benefit from having a mentor. Whether it’s through a formal program or simply through one-on-one interactions, mentorship provides an opportunity for growth and learning that can have a lasting impact.

So while I may not have direct experience with formal mentorship, I am a firm believer in the power of sharing knowledge and supporting others in their journeys.
