Thomas Umbel is Chief Executive Officer of Seno Medical Instruments, Inc. Tom Umbel brings more than 30 years of medical device and diagnostics leadership experience to Seno Medical. He has lead several start-up companies, including one through a successful acquisition. He has also managed large organizations through significant growth leading both the strategic development and M&A efforts in his previous roles. Tom was most recently the VP of Business Development for Bioventus, a privately held ortho-biologics company in Durham, NC. Tom has led the Business Development efforts at both Bioventus and Hologic, the largest dedicated Women’s Health company in the U.S. Tom’s role in managing mergers and acquisitions helped to grow Hologic from a small single-product company with $100 million in revenue to a large diversified company with more than $2.5 billion in sales in his 15 years with the company. Prior to Hologic, Tom was the President of Direct Radiography Corp. (DRC). He led the development and commercialization of the digital x-ray detector technology, which he ultimately sold to Hologic in 1999. This company’s technology became the core to Hologic’s market leading digital mammography system and was the engine to Hologic’s significant growth. Prior to DRC, Tom worked at Sterling Diagnostic Imaging for 3 years and DuPont for 20 years. At those two companies, Tom held senior management positions in operations, engineering, sales and marketing. Tom has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Grove City College.

Robert N. Helms
CEO of Victory Healthcare
Bob oversees and manages the overall operations of Victory Healthcare. Bob began his career as a Medicare Auditor and has been working in healthcare for more than 40 years. Over that time, he has served as CEO of several large regional healthcare providers in both short term acute care and long term acute care in Florida, Texas and Illinois. In 1993, he focused his attention on long term acute care (LTAC) as CEO for Transitional Hospitals Corporation’s (THC) Tampa, Florida facility. In 1996, Bob assumed the position of Divisional Vice President where he was responsible for management oversight of eight long-term acute care facilities in seven states as well as the development and opening of five new LTAC facilities in his region. In 1997, he transitioned to President and Chief Operating Officer of Spectrum Comprehensive Care Corporation (SCCI), the long term acute care hospital company, in Dallas, Texas. While at SCCI, he was responsible for the startup and operations of 10 facilities in six states. In 1999, Bob founded Triumph HealthCare, which became recognized throughout the LTAC industry as the leader in the continuum of intensive care services. In October 2004 Triumph was sold to a venture capital group who used Triumph as a vehicle to acquire other LTAC companies as an industry consolidator. Triumph HealthCare has since merged with RehabCare, a publicly traded healthcare company. Bob has served on the Board of Directors of the Acute Long Term Hospital Association and the University of Houston Healthcare Administration Program. He holds a B.A. in Accounting from the University of West Florida. He is presently the primary owner and CEO of Victory Healthcare and is also currently Chairman and CEO of Innova Healthcare as well as being Innova’s largest shareholder.
