Greg Symons is the Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of SocietyOne and founder of ClearmatchTM. A driven lifetime entrepreneur, Greg has been highly focused in business start-ups in the financial technology space. Greg’s specialty is in developing web-based, industrial grade financial banking and origination systems. With ClearmatchTM, he continues to pioneer disruptive and globally relevant P2P investment and lending platform models for both consumers and institutions. Prior to co-founding SocietyOne in 2011, Australia’s pioneering and largest consumer finance marketplace (peer-to-peer) lender, Greg was based in New Zealand where he and his technology team developed the first online retail lending system in the country in 2000. Founder, CEO & Chair of Brighte
Katherine is the CEO and Founder of Brighte, a leading Australian fintech that provides a marketplace and on-the-spot finance for home energy improvements. Before starting Brighte, Katherine worked for 16 years in investment banking and financial services. Fourteen of those were at Macquarie Bank where she was a founding member of their Australian energy leasing business. Katherine also previously worked as an economist in the Commonwealth Government’s Department of Finance and as a policy analyst at the Federal Treasury. Katherine has been recognised as Fintech Leader of the Year 2018 (Finnie Awards, Australian Fintech Awards) and her business, Brighte, has also been widely recognised for its success. She holds a bachelor degrees in Japanese, and economics and management, and a masters of applied finance from Macquarie University. Katherine enjoys spending her free time at home in Sydney with her husband and their two boys. Their house has solar panels and a home battery.
