Katherine McConnell
Founder, CEO & Chair of Brighte
Katherine is the CEO and Founder of Brighte, a leading Australian fintech that provides a marketplace and on-the-spot finance for home energy improvements. Before starting Brighte, Katherine worked for 16 years in investment banking and financial services. Fourteen of those were at Macquarie Bank where she was a founding member of their Australian energy leasing business. Katherine also previously worked as an economist in the Commonwealth Government’s Department of Finance and as a policy analyst at the Federal Treasury. Katherine has been recognised as Fintech Leader of the Year 2018 (Finnie Awards, Australian Fintech Awards) and her business, Brighte, has also been widely recognised for its success. She holds a bachelor degrees in Japanese, and economics and management, and a masters of applied finance from Macquarie University. Katherine enjoys spending her free time at home in Sydney with her husband and their two boys. Their house has solar panels and a home battery.
