As Head of Marketing at the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation he worked with Australian exporters seeking finance to fund growth and investment in overseas markets. The complexities of existing trade finance and asset finance models were often a baffling obstacle for entrepreneurial exporters to overcome. As Head of Product at Experian Credit Services, Nick worked to design a new format consumer credit report that makes it easier for Australians to access and understand their credit records. He also led the design and build of a cloud solution for major banking clients to manage their complex data reporting obligations for credit records.

Julie Trell

As Advisor on All Things Fun, Meaningful & Rewarding, Julie believes that making a positive impact in the world is fundamental to authentic personal and community happiness. Julie’s path to corporate philanthropy started as a founding member of the Salesforce.com Foundation in 2000 after a serendipitous meeting with Founder and CEO, Marc Benioff. As part of the 1/1/1 model of integrated philanthropy, she launched the award winning employee volunteer program. Julie built and led the signature Salesforce Foundation BizAcademy program for high school students who are interested in entrepreneurism. It brought the students and Salesforce employees together to go through the hands-on process of building a company. After her 12 year tenure as VP of All Things Fun, Meaningful & Rewarding at the Salesforce.com Foundation, Julie became the Executive Director of the Workday Foundation. She created systems and programs for employee engagement and an impact grant program funding innovative ideas in health and education. Julie applies her 14 years of experience in corporate philanthropy with those eager to create change and solve social challenges locally and globally. She works with emerging companies to design innovative integrated philanthropy programs where their product, services and people can provide resources that make positive change. She also advises budding young entrepreneurs. With her M.Ed in education and a classroom teacher and technology specialist in Atlanta, she too had her own aha moments, as she managed a network of 300 computers in a middle school with no formal training. She was named Apple Distinguished Educator in 1998.

Jo Burston

David Ball
CEO of Space Environment Research Centre
David Ball has 25 years of experience in the telecommunications, media and technology sectors with a significant portion of his career specialising in satellite communications. David has held senior positions encompassing sales leadership, business development, engineering and space systems development. Prior to joining SERC, David was an Executive Consultant with Envista Pty Ltd supporting several defence communications projects. Until July 2015, David was the Chief Technology Officer for NewSat Limited and was responsible for all technical matters relating to the Jabiru Satellite Program. Prior to joining NewSat in early 2011, David was the Regional Vice President Asia-Pacific for Intelsat and also held that position for PanAmSat prior to the merger between PanAmSat and Intelsat in 2006. David also filled a variety of sales, customer engineering and product management roles for PanAmSat. David served as a commissioned officer in the Royal Australian Air Force specializing in fixed, tactical and mobile communications systems management before joining PanAmSat in 1995. David holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Communications Engineering) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a Graduate Diploma in Business Management from Deakin University.
