Ajay Banga is president and chief executive officer of MasterCard and a member of its board of directors. Banga is a member of President Obama’s Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. He is chairman of the U.S.-India Business Council and a member of the U.S.-India CEO Forum. He is a fellow of the Foreign Policy Association and was awarded the Foreign Policy Association Medal in 2012. Banga serves on the Executive Committee of the Business Roundtable, and is vice chair of the Financial Services Roundtable as well as the Business Council. He is a member of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Economic Club of New York. He serves on the board of overseers of the Weill Cornell Medical College and on the board of governors of the American Red Cross, the New York City Ballet, and the Partnership for New York City. He is also a member of the International Advisory Board of the Moscow School of Management (Skolkovo). Banga is a past director of Kraft Foods and has also served on the board of trustees of the Asia Society, the New York Hall of Science, and the National Urban League. Prior to MasterCard, Banga was chief executive officer of Citigroup Asia Pacific. During his career at Citigroup, he held a variety of senior management roles in the United States, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa. He also oversaw the company’s efforts in microfinance. Banga began his career at Nestlé, India, where for 13 years he worked on assignments spanning sales, marketing and general management. He also spent two years with PepsiCo, where he was instrumental in launching its fast food franchises in India as the economy liberalized. He is a graduate of Delhi University and the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Michael Miebach
CPO & Chief Executive Officer of Mastercard
Michael Miebach is chief product officer for MasterCard. In this role, he leads the development, commercialization and management of the company’s global core products offerings, which include consumer credit and debit, commercial, prepaid and loyalty solutions. Miebach is also a member of the company’s Management Committee. Prior to assuming this role in January 2016, Miebach was president of the company’s Middle East and Africa region, focused on driving the evolution of payments and delivering increased value to MasterCard stakeholders. He joined MasterCard in 2010 from Barclays Bank PLC, where he was the managing director for Middle East and North Africa, responsible for the bank’s corporate, commercial and consumer business in the region. He also served as managing director for Barclays Africa. Prior to Barclays, Miebach held several senior-level positions over 13 years at Citibank in Germany, Austria, UK and Turkey. His experience spanned cards and consumer finance, corporate and investment banking, operations and financial control. He is a member of the Accion board of directors, providing insight and guidance to the organization as it works to support the two billion adults across the world lacking access to formal financial services.
