Tom Davidson picked the “CEO” slip out of the hat at a recent EverFi staff party and has yet to be fired by the Board of Directors. Davidson ran for the Maine State Legislature while a senior at Bowdoin College in 1994 and spent the better part of three terms working to bring education technology to students in the Pine Tree State. As Chairman of the Utilities and Energy Committee, Davidson led a successful effort with Governor Angus King to provide laptops to every Maine seventh grader as well as to create a major expansion of the wiring of schools and libraries across the State. After deciding that he needed to tell his children one day that he actually once earned a paycheck, Davidson left the Legislature in 2000 and began investing in early-stage technology companies in the education and social media spaces. Prior to joining CrossAccess, Mr. Dering served as President and CEO of two publicly traded Bell & Howell companies. Under Mr. Dering’s leadership, Bell & Howell Mail and Messaging Technologies (MMT) doubled its profits and grew its revenue to $500 million while cultivating a broad customer base that included telecommunications carriers. At Bell & Howell Publishing Services (PSC), Mr. Dering launched its European operation and implemented a focused sales program that resulted in increased market share. Previously, Mr. Dering had a 20-year career at TAB Products Company, a $170 million publicly traded manufacturer of information storage and retrieval solutions for office environments. He initially served in a variety of sales and marketing positions, and, in his last five years, was TAB’s President and CEO, helping turn around the company and making it the dominant industry leader. He brings 25 years’ experience in security, networking, and computer science and control systems, along with a wide-angle perspective to cyber security threats and unique security solutions. In the early 1990s, Yossi joined the technology unit of the Israeli Army Intelligence Corps (Unit 8200). As team leader and chief architect, he focused on design and development of critical infrastructure network monitoring and security systems. In 1998, Yossi co-founded WebSilicon, a company dedicated to delivering advanced networking and security systems. As VP of research and development, Yossi was involved in the design and implementation of numerous systems for government agencies, integrators and vendors worldwide. In 2007, Yossi became the company’s CTO, responsible for North American business activities. In this role, he worked with key customers to develop next-generation network monitoring and security systems. In 2013, WebSilicon was acquired by Magal (NASDAQ: MAGS), one of the world’s largest physical security integration companies. After the acquisition, Yossi led the integration of the company into Magal and was instrumental in rebranding WebSilicon as CyberSeal. Yossi served as CTO for cyber security of Senstar, the North American division of Magal, and relocated to the United States to work closely with key customers and partners. As CTO, Yossi was involved in all phases of development of the Tungsten Cyber Security Appliance and the Rubidium Central Monitoring Systems. These solutions converge physical and logical security and introduced a higher echelon of cyber security to the market.
