Ajay Kochhar

Ajay Kochhar has deep technology and project development experience, gained through progressive roles with Hatch’s Industrial Clean Tech and Advisory practices. While working in the Industrial Clean Tech practice, Ajay gained in-depth engineering and project management experience through clean technology development in the lithium, cobalt, nickel, copper, gold, lead, zinc, molybdenum, and rare earth metals industries. His technical expertise spans the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual and pre-feasibility studies to construction and commissioning. Following his work in the industrial clean tech engineering field, Ajay worked as a Management Consultant with Hatch’s Advisory practice. In this role, he led teams to deliver financial and technical reviews of multi-billion-dollar investment opportunities, including technologies and assets across the lithium-ion battery value chain. Ajay comes from entrepreneurial roots with family business experience gained from a young age. Ajay graduated from the University of Toronto in Chemical Engineering with honours.

Joseph Quarin

Mr. Quarin is President and Chief Executive Officer of Progressive Waste Solutions Ltd. He was appointed Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2012 and assumed the President’s role on January 1, 2014. Progressive Waste Solutions is one of North America’s largest full service waste management companies, providing recycling and disposal services to commercial, industrial, municipal and residential customers in 13 U.S. states and the District of Columbia and six Canadian provinces. Progressive Waste Solutions has more than 7,900 employees serving over 4 million customers through vertically integrated collection and disposal assets and generates over $2.02 billion ($U.S.) in total revenue. Mr. Quarin joined Progressive Waste Solutions in 2000, known at that time as BFI Canada Holdings, one of Canada’s largest non hazardous full-service solid waste management companies, as Vice President of Finance. Following BFI Canada Income Fund’s initial public offering on the Toronto Stock Exchange in 2002, Mr. Quarin was Chief Financial Officer until 2005. From 2005 to 2010, a period of significant organic growth and growth by way of acquisition, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In 2009, he helped lead the offering of the Company’s shares on the New York Stock Exchange. He served as Executive Vice President from March 2010 to November 2010 and was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer on November 16, 2010.

Jocelyn Doucet

Jocelyn Doucet holds a Chemical Engineering Degree and Ph. D. from Ecole Polytechnique (Montreal, 2004 and 2008) where he is also adjunct professor since 2011. While completing his Ph. D., he founded Kengtek Engineering, a company specialized in process engineering with a strong emphasize on developing and executing the research and development needed to properly scale-up processes to the industrial and commercial level. This is where he developed more than 20 industrial processes and patents for worldwide clients. His entrepreneurial and engineering skills have made him grow the company every year in various sectors by partnering with larger engineering firms and research centres and by successfully solving complex problems in very innovative ways. As a result of his leadership and dedication to work, he was recognized as one of the greatest young entrepreneur in Canada as 2013 finalist of the BDC Young Entrepreneur Award. He also received the Rogers New Technology award for Pyrowave in 2013 and won the local and regional prizes for the most promising young entrepreneur in Science and Technology and Sustainable Energy.
