John Macauley
Co-founder, President & CEO of VeracityID
John is a fifth generation Californian who somehow drifted across the Sierra mountains and into the high deserts of Northern Nevada. He is a quiet rebel – reflexively rejecting anything the looks like a cookie-cutter, follow-the-crowd answer to a complex problem. It’s baked into his DNA, as he finds conformity troubling. He loves to write and to speak in public – especially about VeracityID. And he will likely bore you with talk about baseball and American history if you let him. Don’t say you haven’t been warned. John passionately believes that ‘big data’ fraud anticipation and prevention solutions have the power to positively transform how people engage with one another in our increasingly interconnected world. Their wise and ethical application use can improve how we interact, expand what we can do together and drive better results – and yet reduce risk by introducing a new kind of earned, virtual trust into relationships. In particular, he believes that VeracityID can play in significant role in helping individuals and companies express greater confidence in the people with whom they interact around the world while highlighting and isolating those would do them harm. In prior lives, John held leadership roles at several software start-ups in the risk, advanced manufacturing and pricing analytics marketplaces. He also led ‘big data’ initiatives for numerous leading global financial and health institutions. And he spent more than a decade advising senior technology and financial executives during tours with global consultants McKinsey & Company and AT Kearney.
